Trek Overview
The journey begins with a scenic drive from Islamabad (540 m) along the Karakoram Highway (KKH) to Chilas (1,260 m). From there, a thrilling jeep ride on a narrow mountain track leads to Tato village, followed by a short trek to the alpine paradise of Fairy Meadows (3,300 m).
Over the next few days, you explore meadows, forests, and glaciers leading up to Nanga Parbat Base Camp (4,100 m). Nights are spent in cozy wooden lodges or tents under starlit skies, with the mighty Nanga Parbat towering above.
The trek concludes with a return to Islamabad, with an optional cultural tour of the capital city.
Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad (540 m)
Arrival at Islamabad International Airport. Transfer to hotel, evening trek briefing.
Day 2: Islamabad to Chilas (1,260 m) – 8 hrs drive
Early morning drive along the Karakoram Highway. Cross valleys, rivers, and dramatic mountain gorges. Overnight in Chilas. (Alternative: flight to Gilgit, then short drive to Chilas if weather permits.)
Day 3: Chilas to Fairy Meadows (3,300 m) – 2.5 hrs jeep + 3 hrs trek
Drive to Raikot Bridge, where the adventure begins. Take a thrilling 2.5-hour jeep ride along the narrow track to Tato village. From here, trek through pine forest for about 3 hours to reach Fairy Meadows (3,300 m). Overnight in wooden lodge with stunning views of Nanga Parbat.
Day 4: Fairy Meadows Acclimatization & Exploration (3,300 m)
Relax and acclimatize. Optional short hikes to Beyal Camp (3,600 m) with close views of Raikot Glacier. Overnight in Fairy Meadows.
Day 5: Trek to Nanga Parbat Base Camp (4,100 m) – 5–6 hrs trek
Trek past Beyal Camp to the Base Camp of Nanga Parbat. Explore Raikot Glacier and enjoy breathtaking views of the Rupal Face. Return to Fairy Meadows.
Day 6: Fairy Meadows to Chilas (1,260 m) – 3 hrs trek + 2.5 hrs jeep + drive
Descend to Tato, jeep ride to Raikot Bridge, and drive to Chilas. Overnight stay in Chilas.
Day 7: Chilas to Islamabad (540 m) – 8 hrs drive
Return to Islamabad via the Karakoram Highway. Overnight in hotel.
Day 8: Islamabad – Optional Cultural Tour (540 m)
Free day for rest or optional cultural tour at your own expense. Suggested visits: Faisal Mosque, Lok Virsa Museum, Pakistan Monument, and Rawalpindi Bazaars. Farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 9: Departure
Transfer to Islamabad International Airport for onward flight.
