Tour Overview

This journey begins with a breathtaking flight from Islamabad to Skardu, followed by a drive through dramatic mountain landscapes into the legendary Hunza Valley.

You’ll explore Karimabad’s historic forts, enjoy panoramic views from Eagle’s Nest, and travel north to the world’s highest paved border crossing at Khunjerab Pass (4,693 m). Stops include Attabad Lake, Passu Cones, and Gulmit village.

The adventure continues with an excursion to Hopper Glacier in Nagar Valley and a stay in Naltar Valley (3,048 m), famous for its alpine forests and colorful lakes. The trip concludes with a short stay in Gilgit and an optional cultural tour of Islamabad before departure.

Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad (540 m)
Arrival at Islamabad International Airport. Transfer to hotel and evening briefing.

Day 2: Islamabad to Skardu (2,228 m) – 1 hr flight
Morning flight to Skardu. Free time for sightseeing: Skardu Bazaar, Kharpocho Fort, or a walk along the Indus. Overnight in Skardu. (If flight cancels, overland travel via Karakoram Highway will be arranged.)

Day 3: Skardu to Hunza (2,450 m) – 7–8 hrs drive
Drive through stunning valleys and along the Karakoram Highway, crossing Gilgit before entering Hunza. Overnight in Karimabad.

Day 4: Hunza Sightseeing – Baltit & Altit Forts (2,450 m)
Visit Baltit Fort and Altit Fort, both UNESCO heritage candidates. Explore Karimabad Bazaar. Evening free.

Day 5: Khunjerab Pass Excursion (4,693 m) – full-day drive
Full-day drive north to Khunjerab Pass at the China border. Stops include Attabad Lake, Passu Cones, and Gulmit. Return to Karimabad.

Day 6: Eagle’s Nest & Hopper Glacier (2,850 m–3,000 m)
Morning panoramic views from Eagle’s Nest. Continue to Nagar Valley to visit the Hopper Glacier. Overnight in Hunza.

Day 7: Karimabad to Naltar Valley (3,048 m) – 5 hrs drive
Depart Hunza and drive to Naltar Valley, famous for alpine forests and lakes. Overnight in lodge or guesthouse.

Day 8: Naltar Exploration & Gilgit (1,500 m)
Morning visit to Naltar Lakes (Blue Lake, Satrangi Lake, etc.). Afternoon drive to Gilgit. Visit Gilgit Bazaar and suspension bridge. Overnight stay.

Day 9: Gilgit to Islamabad – 1 hr flight or 12 hrs drive
Morning flight back to Islamabad. (If flight cancels, return by road along KKH.) Overnight in Islamabad.

Day 10: Islamabad – Optional Cultural Tour & Departure
Optional city tour of Faisal Mosque, Lok Virsa Museum, Pakistan Monument, and Rawalpindi Bazaar. Transfer to airport for onward flight.
