Tour Overview

This journey combines the cultural charm of Astore Valley with breathtaking views of Nanga Parbat (8,126 m), the “Killer Mountain.” Starting with a scenic flight to Skardu, the trip covers Sheosar Lake, Rupal Base Camp, Kala Pani village, and the green meadows of Rama Valley.

The route balances cultural encounters with natural highlights like Rama Lake and Rupal Glacier, concluding with a return drive via Chilas and the Karakoram Highway back to Islamabad.

Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad (540 m)
Arrival at Islamabad International Airport. Transfer to hotel and evening trek briefing.

Day 2: Islamabad to Skardu (2,228 m) – 1 hr flight / 640 km, 14–16 hrs by road
Morning flight to Skardu. Free time to explore Skardu Bazaar or relax. (If flight cancels, drive via Karakoram Highway with overnight en route.)

Day 3: Skardu to Sheosar Lake (4,142 m) – 180 km, 6–7 hrs drive
Full-day excursion to Sheosar Lake in Deosai National Park, surrounded by vast alpine meadows and wildlife. Continue towards Astore region. Overnight stay.

Day 4: Tarashing (2,900 m) to Rupal Base Camp (3,560 m) –  trek, 1 hrs
Drive to Tarashing village (2,900 m). Trek to Rupal Base Camp, facing Nanga Parbat’s dramatic southern wall and Rupal Glacier. Return trek to Tarashing. Overnight stay.

Day 5: Tarashing to Kala Pani Village (2,800 m) – 65 km, 3 hrs drive
Drive to Kala Pani, a traditional village in Astore Valley. Explore pastures, meet locals, and experience authentic  hospitality. Ideal for adventure seekers and eco-tourists. Overnight stay in a local guesthouse.

Day 6: Kala Pani to Rama Meadows (3,300 m) – 40 km, 2 hrs drive
Continue by road to Rama Meadows, one of Pakistan’s most beautiful alpine settings, with lush greenery and views of Nanga Parbat. Overnight in Rama.

Day 7: Trek to Rama Lake (3,500 m) – 3 km, ~1 hr trek
Short and easy trek to Rama Lake, a crystal-clear alpine lake surrounded by meadows. Return to Rama Meadows for overnight stay.

Day 8: Rama Meadows to Chilas (1,260 m) – 120 km, 5–6 hrs drive
Descend to the Karakoram Highway and drive south to Chilas. Overnight in Chilas.

Day 9: Chilas to Islamabad (540 m) – 460 km, 8–9 hrs drive
Drive back along the Karakoram Highway, with scenic stops en route. Overnight in Islamabad.

Day 10: Islamabad – Cultural Tour & Departure
Optional city tour of Faisal Mosque, Lok Virsa Museum, Pakistan Monument, and Rawalpindi Bazaar. Evening transfer to airport for onward flight.
